Zach Wilson, Brigham Young • 6 ‘2 ”, 214 lbs

Catapulting up draft boards after excelling in his 2020 season at BYU the swaggy QB with a headband has taken the 2021 draft class by storm. Wilson brings a gunslinger style with the ability to throw electric balls from sideline to sideline on a rope.

Wilson began his collegiate career battling various injuries which put a cap on his overall production. After his freshman season he underwent shoulder surgury for an injury he suffered in high school. In 2019 he again missed time with a fractured right thumb that required surgery. His freshmen season he started seven-of-nine games for 1,578 yards, 12 TDs, and rushed for 211 yards and two TDs rushing. As a sophomore he started nine games passing for 2,382 yards, 11 TDs, adding 167 and 3 TDs on the ground. But it was his 2020 season that launched him up draft boards. Wilson broke out in 2020 passing for 3,692 yards, 33 TDs and also excelled on the ground with 254 yards rushing and 10 TDs. In that final season he showed growth as an improvisational athlete who combined his cocky style of play while illustrating his ability to extend plays while completing 73.5% of his passes.

Wilson is projected to go as the number two overall selection and slide immediately into the starting QB role for the Jets who traded away Sam Darnold to the Carolina Panthers in early April.
