Fantasy Football Week 10 Waiver Wire
By Brandon Lane
QUARTERBACK
Justin Fields, Chicago Bears
Roster Percentage: 26%
THE TIME IS NOW…and by now I mean pick him up and put him on your bench because the Bears are on Bye in Week 10. We are finally seeing the upside that we all longed for at the start of the season with Justin Fields. He’s finally running and throwing downfield and, while its been more than chaotic at times, the results in fantasy the past two weeks have been starter worthy. Fields rushed eight times for 45 yards while completing 17-of-29 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown. After their Bye the Bears take on the Ravens in Week 11.
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints
Roster Percentage: 17%
After watching the Trevor Siemian experiment I have to assume the Saints are ready to get Taysom Hill up to speed as the Week 10 starter. The Saints need to do something and the team is lacking play-makers outside of Alvin Kamara. Hill played sparingly in Week 9 but when he was in the game he did move the ball effectively. Hill completed 2-of-2 passes for 33 yards, adding one carry for four additional yards. Last season when Hill made four starts he was a top 12 quarterback in each of those games. When, not IF Hill starts he should be considered a valuable fantasy asset in all leagues. The Saints take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 10.
Teddy Bridgewater, Denver Broncos
Roster Percentage: 26%
Teddy won’t blow the doors off, but he is usually a steady-eddy that will give you a safe floor. So if you need a Bye week or injury fill-in you could probably do worse than Mr. Bridgewater. In Week 9 the Broncos destroyed the Cowboys. Bridgewater completed 19-of-28 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown and snuck another TD in on the ground. The Broncos take on the Eagles in Week 10.
Others to Consider:
Jimmy Garoppolo (27% vs LAR) Trey Lance (18%) Mike White (2% @ IND)
RUNNING BACK
If available:
Javonte Williams (86%) Eli Mitchell (85%) AJ Dillon (66%) Kenyan Drake (63%)
Jordan Howard, Philadelphia Eagles
Roster Percentage: 15%
In Week 9 Howard took advantage of the Chargers run-friendly defense rushing 17 times for 71 yards and a touchdown. In a somewhat jumbled backfield it has been Howard who has taken the lead over the past two weeks. As long as Miles Sanders is out Howard is worthy of adding in most leagues as an RB3/Flex. The Eagles take on a tougher Week 10 opponent in the Broncos.
Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots
Roster Percentage: 6%
Before suffering a head injury in Week 9 Stevenson was having the best game of his rookie season, rushing 10 times for 62 yards and catching two balls for 44 additional yards. The Patriots backfield has always been a bit hard to predict but the upside has always been there for this young Running Back. If he is cleared to play this week you might want to take a wait and see approach, but if you have the space to add this upside Back he could very well pay-off down the line. The Pats take on the Browns in Week 10.
Devonta Freeman, Baltimore Ravens
Roster Percentage: 22%
With Latavius Murray once again out it was Freeman who continued to be the Ravens best back in Week 9. He rushed 13 times for 78 yards adding two catches for four yards and a touchdown. If Murray is out again Freeman is a worthy FLEX option on Thursday night when the Ravens travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins.
Alex Collins, Seattle Seahawks
Roster Percentage: 42%
There is a chance that Chris Carson could return in Week 10 vs the Packers which would demote Collins to his reserve role likely making him unusable for fantasy. Russell Wilson is scheduled to return this week so if Carson is out, Collins should prove to be a serviceable option. Keep an eye on the injury reports to see how things play out.
Eno Benjamin, Arizona Cardinals
Roster Percentage: 0%
Chase Edmonds suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 9 against the 49ers. James Connor went absolutely berserk punishing the 9ERs on the ground and through the air. So while Connor will be the main benefactor of the Edmonds injury it does open the door for Eno Benjamin. Benjamin rushed 9 times for 39 yards and a touchdown in Week 9. The Cardinals take on a stout Panthers run defense in week 10 so keep your expectations in check.
Sony Michel
Roster Percentage: 33%
Darrell Henderson has seen his role slightly decrease over the past few weeks and did briefly exit the game in Week 9 with an ankle injury. If Henderson were to ever miss a game Sony Michel would be a must add. Michel rushed seven times for 20 yards, and caught two balls for six yards in Week 9. In Week 10 the Rams take on a 49ers defense that just got torched by James Connor in Week 9.
Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints
Roster Percentage: 38%
Mark Ingram has taken on the 1B roll for the Saints behind Alvin Kamara. In his second game with the Saints, Ingram rushed nine times for 43 yards while adding five receptions for 21 yards. It will be interesting to see how this backfield plays out if/when Taysom Hill takes over behind center. Ingram can be considered a low-end FLEX option when the Saints take on the Titans in Week 10
Ty Johnson, New York Jets
Roster Percentage: 13%
While Micheal Carter continues to seize the RB1 duties Johnson has done a nice job himself providing value for fantasy managers. In Week 9 Johnson rushed four times for 21 yards and also caught 2-of-3 targets for 40 yards and a touchdown. Week 10 could be tough sledding for the Jets backfield vs the Bills number one run defense.
Others to Consider:
Latavius Murray (35%) Carlos Hyde (33%) Jeff Wilson (30%) JaMycal Hasty (2%) Jaret Patterson (2%) D’onta Foreman (1%) Jermar Jefferson (0%) Ameer Abdullah (0%)
WIDE RECEIVER
If available:
Emmanuel Sanders (81%) Hunter Renfrow (65%) Corey Davis (64%) Brandon Aiyuk (61%)
Rashod Bateman, Baltimore Ravens
Roster Percentage: 36%
Bateman continues to top the list of adds for available Wide Receivers in Week 10. The talented rookie caught 5 of his 8 targets for 52 yards and while he didn’t find the end-zone, bigger plays are coming. He should be rostered in all leagues. Baltimore heads to a beatable Miami defense for Thursday Night Football.
Van Jefferson Jr., Los Angeles Rams
Roster Percentage: 43%
DJax is no longer with the Rams and we have seen Van Jefferson take on a significant role over the past two weeks. He has run a similar number of routes to both Kupp and Woods while seeing a 17% target share. After a forgettable Week 9 game for the Rams Jefferson caught 3-of-7 targets for 41 yards. The Rams take on the 49ers for a Monday night match-up.
Darnell Mooney, Chicago Bears
Roster Percentage: 44%
Mooney continues to be a favorite option for Justin Fields who continues to look his way when going deep. Mooney had a boom week scoring twice, once on the ground when he rushed in a 15 yard touchdown and a second time through the air while catching 3-of-6 targets for 41 yards. The Bears are on Bye in Week 10 but Mooney is worth a stash if you are in need of a Wide-out.
Elijah Moore, New York Jets
Roster Percentage: 28%
Elijah Moore had himself a WEEK finishing as the overall WR1 in fantasy for Week 9. He caught 7 of his 8 targets for 84 yards and TWO touchdowns. This electric rookie has been on this list before and this might be the time to grab and keep him rostered for the remainder of the season. I will add this BOOM week did come with the Jets WR1 Corey Davis out due to injury and when Davis returns Moore will likely take the backseat. It was nice to see Moore be effectively moved outside running the majority of his routes from the perimeter while Jamison Crowder gobbled up the slot. I am tempering expectations after this explosion but I do think he should be added in deeper leagues.
Tim Patrick, Denver Broncos
Roster Percentage: 26%
HE’S BACKKKK…. After being a mainstay on this list for weeks I did Patrick DURTY by removing him once Jerry Jeudy was back in the fold for his second week. Patrick proved my fade wrong leading the Broncos in receiving catching 4-of-5 targets for 85 yards and one touchdown in Week 9. Even with the receiver core back to full force the chemistry he has developed with Teddy Bridgewater is apparently here to stay. The Broncos take on the Eagles in Week 10 making Patrick a FLEX consideration.
Michael Gallup, Dallas Cowboys
Roster Percentage: 41%
After being out on IR since Week 1 Gallup has been activated from the injured reserve and is expected to return in Week 10 vs Atlanta. It might take a week or two before he returns to fantasy production but he is worth a stash if you have the space.
Others to Consider:
Russell Gage (16%) Deonte Harris (15%) Donovan Peoples-Jones (14%) Kendrick Bourne (8%) Sammy Watkins (9%) Olamide Zaccheaus (1%)
TIGHT END
Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers
Roster Percentage: 41%
MUUUUTTTHHHHHH!!!! This is the last chance to get this electric rookie on your squad. Freiermuth has been on this list since JuJu Smith-Schuster went down for the season. Since then he has seen six or more targets over the past three games and continues to be a red-zone favorite for Big Ben. On Monday Night Football he BEASTED for two touchdowns catching 5-of-6 targets for 43 yards. This rookie looks like he has TE1 potential moving forward.
Tyler Conklin, Minnesota Vikings
Roster Percentage: 37%
While Conklin isn’t the sexy pickup that Freiermuth is, he has been a dependable mid-tier option for fantasy. In Week 9 he caught 5-of-7 targets for 45 yards. In Week 10, he Vikings take on the Chargers who have been a friendly match-up for TEs so far this season.
Dan Arnold, Jacksonville Jaguars
Roster Percentage: 5%
Arnold continues to see the volume we search for in this desolate Tight End landscape. He lead the Jaguars in receiving yards with 60, while catching 4 of his 7 targets. The Jagz take on the Colts in Week 10 who have given up the 5th most fantasy points to TEs this season.
Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears
Roster Percentage: 20%
The Bears are on Bye in Week 10, but one thing we have mentioned previously is that Justin Fields has been zeroing in on his Tight Ends. The top option being Cole Kmet who caught 6-of-8 targets for 87 yards (28% target share). As Fields continues to gain confidence I think we see the Kmet Konnection flourish. The Bears take on the Ravens when they return from their Bye in Week 11.
