Fantasy Football Week 14 Waiver Wire
By Brandon Lane
QUARTERBACK
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
*Roster Percentage: 50%
With with the recent slew of quarterbacks going down and six teams on Bye, Jared Goff is the top quarterback add this week. In a juicy Week 13 Goff completed 31 of his 41 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns. And the match-up goodness continues into Week 14 when the Lions take on a Minnesota defense that has given up the 7th most fantasy points to QBs. ROAR!!!
Mike White, New York Jets
Roster Percentage: 18%
Fantasy points don’t have to be pretty and that was exactly the case with Mike White in Week 13 who churned out a Fitzmagic style performance. White completed 31-of-57 passes for 369 yards and scored his only TD on the day via the ground. The Jets take on a stout Bills defense this week making White a low-end play but it could lead to another pass heavy performance. Look forward to the Week 15/16 match-ups when White should be in play for the fantasy playoffs.
Sam Darnold, Carolina Panthers
Roster Percentage: 2%
The Panthers are returning from a Week 13 Bye. In Week 12 Darnold looked solid against a stout Broncos defense completing 11-of-19 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown and also scoring another on the ground. The Panthers have a plus match-up against a Seattle team that has given up the 13th most fantasy points to Quarterbacks.
Others to Consider:
Ryan Tannehill (18% vs Jax), Tyler Huntley (2% @PIT), Brock Purdy (1% vs TB), Desmond Ridder (1% stash)
RUNNING BACK
Zonovan Knight, New York Jets
Roster Percentage: 47%
Bam Knight is now the Jets lead back and showcased well again in Week 13 rushing 15 times for 90 yards padding his stats catching five balls for 28 yards additional yards. While the Buffalo match-up in Week 14 is one you might want to stay away from Bam is still a must add in all leagues.
Cam Akers, Los Angeles Rams
Roster Percentage: 46%
While the Rams are a headache to deal with in fantasy at this point we did see the reemergence of Cam Akers in Week 13 who ran the ball 17 times for 60 yards and two touchdowns. He gets another great match-up this week taking on a Raiders defense that has given up the 6th most fantasy points to running backs.
James Cook, Buffalo Bills
Roster Percentage: 25%
After a quiet Week 12 Cook was back in play taking on a even timeshare with starter Devin Singletary. Cook shined rushing 14 times for 64 yards and hauled in all six of his targets for 41 yards. Thats the second time in three games Cook has been showcased and it could be representative of things to come.
Others to Consider:
Melvin Gordon III (40%), Alexander Mattison (35%), Jordan Mason (15%) Travis Homer/Tony Jones/DJ Dallas/Wayne Gallman (watch for developments on Seahawks backfield)
WIDE RECEIVER
If available: Michael Gallup (54%)
D.J. Chark, Detroit Lions
Roster Percentage: 17%
We mentioned quarterback Jared Goff as the top streamer this week and that also goes for his pass catchers. So if you are looking for some upside at WR this week look no further than Chark-Doodle who caught 5 balls for 98 yards in Week 13 and could very well match that performance against a Vikings defense that has given up the 3rd most points to fantasy wideouts this season.
Corey Davis, New York Jets
Roster Percentage: 13%
JETS…JETS…JETS!!! There seems to be a Jets theme in this article. Corey Davis is back and he caught 5 of his 10 targets for 85 yards. The Mike White experience has opened up the passing game for all the Jets and Davis should continue to see his fair share moving forward. Temper expectations this week against the Bills defense but feel free to fire him up in Week 15/16 when the Jets take on the Lions and the Jagz.
Nico Collins, Houston Texans
Roster Percentage: 29%
Personally I’ve given up on trusting anyone in a Texans uniform for fantasy and certainly wouldn’t want to play Collins this week against Dallas. BUT if you need some depth in the weeks to come Nico Collins could provide some help. The targets are being projectiled his way but he could only muster to catch three his 10 Kyle Allen thrown passes for 35 yards. Thankfully he saved his day finding the end-zone for a score.
Others to Consider:
Isaiah McKenzie (37%), Van Jefferson (29%), Mack Hollins (30%), Jahan Dotson (15%)
TIGHT END
Greg Dulcich, Denver Broncos
Roster Percentage: 14%
After a few off Weeks Greg Dulcich launched back onto the scene with a 38% target share catching 6 of his 8 targets for 85 yards. Courtland Sutton suffered a hamstring injury in Week 13 which should bolster Dulcich’s target share and slot usage. Its difficult to trust the Broncos offense right now but going up against the high powered Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14 will force Denver to go to the air making Dulcich a possible TE1.
Noah Fant, Seattle Seahawks
Roster Percentage: 18%
While the match-up for Fant isn’t as friendly as it was last week the Seahawks have been looking Fant’s way more regularly. In Week 13 he caught 4 balls for 42 yards and a touchdown. With Seattle’s backfield injuries being a concern the team will likely look keep the ball in the air against the Panthers.
Daniel Bellinger, New York Giants
Roster Percentage: 14%
Bellinger returned from a fracture to his left eye socket catching all 5 of his targets for 24 yards. Not the strongest match-up with Philadelphia giving up the 8th fewest fantasy points to tight ends but finding a TE with consistent target share is about the most you can ask for these days.
