Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Wire
QUARTERBACK
If available: Trevor Lawrence (58%)
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
*Roster Percentage: 45%
It’s no longer easy to stream quarterbacks on a weekly basis, but if I were to select one for this week and possibly to roster moving forward it would be Jared Goff. He has continued to show solid play and in Week 3 he completed 25 of his 41 attempts for 277 yards and a touchdown. Behind an elite Lions OLine we are seeing Goff get the time he needs to make solid decisions and get the ball to his playmakers. This week the Lions take on the Seahawks who have given up the 17th most points to QBs.
Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints
Roster Percentage: 42%
As we discussed in previous waiver wire articles if you roster Jameis Winston you have to expect a roller coaster ride and that is exactly what we have experienced through the first three weeks. Winston threw for 353 yards while completing 25 of his 41 and one score. One thing to monitor is the availability of both Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry and Tre’Quon Smith who went out due to injuries in Week 3. If some of those pass catchers return he faces a plus match-up against the Minnesota Vikings who have given up the 15th most points to QBs this season.
Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans
Roster Percentage: 16%
The Titans are still a run first offense which limits the upside of Ryan Tannehill. But in Week 3 we did see him get his new pass catchers, Robert Woods and exciting rookie Treylon Burks, involved. Tannehill completed 19 of 27 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown, and he ran in another touchdown. While the upside isn’t there on a week-to-week basis, if you need a floor play Tanny could be your guy. The Titans take on the Colts in Week 4.

Marcus Mariota (22% vs Cleveland), Geno Smith (9% at Detroit), Jacoby Brissett (4% at Atlanta), Kenny Pickett (4% stash)
RUNNING BACK
If available:
Jamaal Williams (61%), Alexander Mattison (55%), Brian Robinson Jr. (52%)
Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears
Roster Percentage: 49%
We have had Herbert as the top running back add for the past two weeks and this is the reason why; after starter Davis Montgomery went down with and knee and ankle injury in Week 3 Herbert went into beast mode. He rushed 20 times for 157 yards and two touchdowns and then padded those rushing stats with two grabs for 12 additional yards. That eye-popping performance was full of plus stats averaging 7.8 YPC, 6.6 yards after contact and forcing seven missed tackles — not to mention finishing as the top RB in fantasy for Week 3. Time to break the bank if he is still available in your league.
Craig Reynolds, Detroit Lions
Roster Percentage: 0%
It has been reported that starter D’Andre Swift will be out with a separated shoulder through the Lions Week 6 bye. Jamaal Williams (61% rostered) is the next man up and could see the bulk of the workload but if history serves the Lions like a committee approach. In the lone game when Swift was out in 2021, Reynolds carried the ball 14 times compared to Williams 19 and Reynolds handled 100% of the running back targets. Running behind an elite OLine he should see an immediate uptick in usage and be a possible FLEX consideration while Swift is out. In week 4, the Lions take on the Seahawks who have given up the 8th most points to fantasy RBs.
Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers
Roster Percentage: 9%
Najee Harris continues to see the bulk of the carries behind a putrid offensive line, but Harris has not been healthy all season long and it shows. While you currently can’t start rookie Jaylen Warren its possible Harris takes some time off in the future to get things right. If that happens he could be an every-down back. In Week 3 he rushed four times for 30 yards and caught one ball for an additional 3 yards. His day would have looked brighter if a 35-yard gain weren’t called back on a penalty. Warren can be considered a stash in most leagues.
Mark Ingram II, New Orleans Saints
Roster Percentage: 26%
While Ingram isn’t receiving massive workloads while Alvin Kamara is active he is seeing enough to be rostered in most leagues. He continues to see the goal line opportunities and hit pay-dirt in Week 3 plunging one in. His week would have been lost without that score only rushing five times for 18 yards. Worthy of a stash in most leagues.

WIDE RECEIVER
Treylon Burks, Tennessee Titans
Roster Percentage: 45%
ROOKIE MANIA IS HEREEEE… and this is likely your last chance to get in on Treylon Burks. While Burks might not show up in the box score he has seen his snap count increase from 37% in Week 1 to 69% in Week 3. The target count has been up and down the first three weeks but the Titans invested a first round draft pick on this rookie and he should continue to see his opportunities grow as the season progresses. He has entered the WR4 territory and I think could enter the WR2 discussion by the end of the season.
Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers
Roster Percentage: 25%
Let’s keep it rolling with the rookies! Romeo Doubs had himself a day catching 8 targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in Week 3. This usage is likely to continue with Sammy Watkins on IR and Christian Watson struggling with injuries of his own. That led Doubs to see his snap count spike from 57% in Week 1 to 89% in Week 3. He saw a 24% target share and caught 100% the balls thrown his way. He should be added in all leagues.
Russell Gage, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Roster Percentage: 42%
The Bucs receiver corps have been a mess, Godwin and Jones out with injury, Evans suspended and Gage himself hobbled with by hamstring issues himself. Gage did gut through Week 3 but repeatedly seemed to be in pain constantly clutching his hammy, but he still managed to produce catching 12 of the 13 balls thrown his way for 87 yards and a touchdown. Evans does return for Week 4 but I doubt we see either Godwin or Jones leaving Gage as an add for Week 4. Do pay attention to injury reports as it’s likely we see Gage be questionable with his hamstring issues. The Bucs take on the Chiefs this week putting Gage as a WR3 option in most leagues.
Zay Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars
Roster Percentage: 10%
We are starting to see why Trevor Lawrence was selected as the top overall selection in the 2021 Draft and the Jaguars new addition Zay Jones is going along for the ride. Jones is top 25 in wide receiver targets in the league and seeing a 23% target share for the Jagz. Another strong showing in Week 3 catching 10-of-11 targets for 85 yards and a touchdown. Coming into the season I loved Jones as a late round best ball pick but now it’s looking like he needs to be rostered in most redraft leagues. Week 4 should be a shootout against the Eagles making Jones a FLEX consideration.

TIGHT END
If available: David Njoku
Tyler Conklin, New York Jets
Roster Percentage: 21%
Another week another Tyler Conklin waiver write-up. This guy deserves to be rosters in many more leagues. He has now run 141 routes and played 200 offensive snaps. That leads every tight end in the league. In Week 3 he had another solid showing catching all 8 of his targets for 84 yards. Joe Flacco has turned him into a TE1 although this could change with Zach Wilson possibly returning under center this week, but he is still worthy of starting in all leagues until we see how things play out.
Robert Tonyan, Green Bay Packers
Roster Percentage: 29%
Returning from an ACL injury last season Tonyan has seen his snap count increase each week from 36% in Week 1 up to 58% in Week 3. He also saw a 20% target share in Week 3 and it should be only a matter of time before he finds the end zone. In Week 3 Tonyan caught 6 of his 7 targets for 37 yards. His usage should continue to climb as the season progresses making him a back end TE1 option moving forward.
Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders
Roster Percentage: 37%
The Commanders had a rough one in Week 3 against the stout Eagles defense and if you started Thomas it didn’t pay off. He caught 2 of his 3 targets for a measly five yards. While that might be enough to consider dropping him I think he is someone who should remain rostered. Better weeks are to come.
