QUARTERBACK

Taysom Hill/ Trevor Siemian New Orleans Saints

Roster Percentage: 3%/0%
Jameis Winston suffered a season-ending ACL injury in week 8. Trevor Siemian stepped up in his place in an upset win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Siemian completed 16-of-29 balls for 159 yards and a touchdown. If Taysom Hill is able to return he should slide into the starting role and, if that is the case, he would be the number one add at QB this week. Hill has proven to have QB1 upside with his ability to gain yards on the ground averaging 52 rushing yards and a TD in his four starts. However that upside might be tempered since he has been out since Week 5 due to a concussion and has yet to practice or pass the concussion protocol. Keep an eye on injury updates but if you have room to stash Hill I would go ahead and do it. The Saints take on the Falcons in Week 9 which has proven fantasy goodness for quarterbacks so far this season.

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

Roster Percentage: 36%
After a horrendous game last week against the stout Bills defense you may see more teams dropping Tua than adding him but he gets a TASTEE match-up in Week 9 vs Houston. Tagovailoa salvaged his day when he scored on a QB sneak but beyond that the Bills shut him down for the rest of the day. He only completed 21-of-39 passes for 205 yards and a pick. If you need a streamer in Week 9 he could be your best bet.

Daniel Jones, New York Giants

Roster Percentage: 49%
With the onslaught of quarterback injuries the options for fantasy managers are getting thin and so are the pass-catching options the Giants have available. Jones completed 22-of-32 passes for 222 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in Week 8. While its a less than an ideal match-up vs the Raiders in Week 9, Jones has been rushing and throwing enough to be considered as a low-end streamer for Week 9.

Others to Consider:
Justin Fields (22% @ PIT) Mike White (2% @ IND)

RUNNING BACK

If available:
Michael Carter (68%) Devontae Booker (68%, if Saquon Barkley is again out) Kenyan Drake (63%)

Adrian Peterson/Jeremy McNichols, Tennessee Titans

Roster Percentage: 6%/10%
Derrick Henry underwent foot surgery today which will keep him out through the end of the regular season thus ending his historic fantasy season. The Titans signed veteran Adrian Peterson who will be brought in as the between the tackles and goal-line back, while Jeremy McNichols should see the majority of his work as the pass-catching back. While we can’t expect Peterson to come close to replacing Henry’s production he should eventually see enough volume to give you RB2 production most weeks making him our top add of the week. McNichols is more of an add in PPR formats.

Boston Scott/Jordan Howard, Philadelphia Eagles

Roster Percentage: 21%
The Eagles backfield was a 3-headed platoon in Week 8. It was Scott who received the start and rushed 12 times for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Howard matched that production rushing 12 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns. Keep in mind that this game was against the Lions and the game was well in hand early which led to a run heavy game script. Scott ended up with 45% of the snaps, Howard 25% and Gainwell 30%. Most of Gainwell’s work did not come until the 4th quarter when the game was basically over. All backs are worth rostering but I wouldn’t expect this type of production on a weekly basis even with the Eagles plus schedule moving forward. Expect to see more hurry-up offense when the Eagles take on the Chargers in week 9.

Carlos Hyde, Jacksonville Jaguars

Roster Percentage: 7%
Starter James Robinson exited Week 8 with a foot injury and Hyde took over as the lead back. Hyde rushed nine times for 32 yards and tacked on six grabs for 40 yards. The Jagz take on a stout Bills defense making Hyde a low-end RB2/FLEX in Week 9 if Robinson is forced to sit.

Ty Johnson, New York Jets

Roster Percentage: 5%
Johnson turned five receptions into 71 yards and a touchdown and also rushed four times for 15 yards. Rookie Michael Carter has taken a hold of this backfield but Johnson is still seeing enough work to fill in as a flex against the Colts in Week 9.

Derrick Gore, Kansas City Chiefs

Roster Percentage: 2%
The biggest surprise on MNF was Derrick Gore who came out of nowhere to rush 11 times for 48 yards and a touchdown. This is a player who had only played five snaps without touching the ball so far this season. So before you go crazy here keep in mind that box score is a bit deceiving as Gore only played 15 offensive snaps compared to starting RB Darrel Williams 50 snaps. If Clyde Edwards-Helaire is out again in Week 9 Gore could be worth a gamble. The Chiefs take on the Packers who have given up the 16th most fantasy points to running backs this season.

Others to Consider:
Latavius Murray (40%) Mark Ingram (37%) Devonta Freeman (21%) Jaret Patterson (2%) Peyton Barber (2%) Salvon Ahmed (2%) JaMycal Hasty (2%) Jermar Jefferson (0%) Rex Burkhead (0%)

WIDE RECEIVER

If available: Kadarius Toney (58%)

Rashod Bateman, Baltimore Ravens

Roster Percentage: 31%
Coming off a Week 8 Bye I expect to see the Ravens continue to look Bateman’s way. In week 7 he caught 3-of-6 targets for 80 yards (15% target share). While the target share went down from his NFL debut in Week 6 (22%) he is still a focal point of the Ravens offense. He should be rostered in all leagues. The Ravens will take on Minnesota in Week 9 who have given up the 6th most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.

DeVante Parker, Miami Dolphins

Roster Percentage: 37%
Returning to action for the first time since Week 4 Parker caught 8 of his 11 targets for 85 yards (28% target share). Miami has a JUICY match-up in Week 9 vs Houston making him a high-end WR3 with upside for more.

Jamison Crowder, New York Jets

Roster Percentage: 19%
Crowder was a major in the Mike White offense catching 8 targets for 84 yards. He returned the favor to his new QB by throwing a 2-point conversion to White. Crowder can be a dependable WR3/FLEX and is a plus play in PPR formats. The Jets take on the Colts in Week 9 who have given up the 9th most points to fantasy WRs.

Jamal Agnew, Jacksonville Jaguars

Roster Percentage: 2%
After replacing the injured DJ Chark in the offense Agnew has lead the team in targets seeing a 21% target share in his three games as a starter. In Week 8 he caught 6-of-12 targets for 38 yards and a touchdown. The Jaguars will continue to be a pass heavy offense and Agnew can fill the bill for fantasy managers seeking some added depth at wide receiver. While he is worth the add I would sit him this week when The Jagz take on the Bills defense who have allowed the second fewest points to WRs this season.

Bryan Edwards, Las Vegas Raiders

Roster Percentage: 11%
Henry Ruggs deadly DUI incident leaves an uncertain future for the young player. Edwards was starting to gather some steam prior to the Week 8 Bye and now could garner extra targets moving forward. The Raiders take on the Giants in Week 9.

Michael Gallup, Dallas Cowboys

Roster Percentage: 41%
After being out on IR since Week 1 Gallup has been activated from the injured reserve. While he was eligible to return as soon as Week 8 the Cowboys held him out with a possible return this week. Gallup should be stashed in all leagues.

Others to Consider:
Darnell Mooney (42%) Russell Gage (15%) Kendrick Bourne (8%) Allen Lazard (7%)

TIGHT END

Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers

Roster Percentage: 11%
Freiermuth has been on this list the past few weeks. Since JuJu Smith-Schuster went down Freiermuth has seen an 18% target share and played on 60% of the snaps. In Week 8 without Eric Ebron in the lineup he caught 4-of-7 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown (20% target share). The MUTH has proven to be a go-to safety valve for noodle-armed Big Ben and should continue to see a good amount of red-zone looks moving forward. He should be rostered in most leagues.

Dan Arnold, Jacksonville Jaguars

Roster Percentage: 5%
While Arnold will likely have a rough go in week 9 when the Jagz take on the Bills he has been seeing the usage we desire in fantasy. Arnold caught 8 of his 10 targets for 68 yards in Week 8. While he has yet to find the end-zone this season he has been targeted in the open field 23 times in the four games he has played with the Jagz.

Others to Consider:
C.J. Uzomah (46%) Evan Engram (33%) Cole Kmet (21%) Tyler Conklin (25%) Foster Moreau if Darren Waller is out again (1%)
